The annual TLAP budget is considered by the TLAP Committee ahead of the beginning of each calendar year. A program of activities is agreed that meet the aims of TLAP and funds are allocated to cover the expected costs associated with each approved activity across 5 separate sub-programs.
TLAP is not a potential source of funding for community members or entities seeking to undertake specific works on individual properties to reduce lead exposure pathways in the Port Pirie environment.
Any person considering any form of home repair or landscaping activities is encouraged to contact The Environmental Health Centre (EHC) for guidance.
The EHC is the expert community health agency which has the experience to provide guidance and specific support to reduce and minimise lead exposure in the community.
The TLAP Committee encourages all community members to work closely with the staff at the EHC when undertaking any activities which may impact blood lead levels in children.
